Crafted with Care, Delivered with Trust
At KIREAJI, every order begins not in a warehouse, but in the hands of skilled craftsmen in Sakai, Japan.
Each knife is individually prepared, finished, and inspected before shipment. Handles are carefully fitted, blades are inspected, and, upon request, complimentary Honbazuke is performed as an initial hand-sharpening intended to prepare the knife for practical use.
This artisanal preparation takes time, but it allows us to deliver each knife with the care and attention that authentic Sakai craftsmanship deserves.
Shipping Origin
All KIREAJI orders are shipped directly from Japan.
Orders are shipped with tracking so that customers can follow their shipment after dispatch.
Preparation & Delivery Time
Please allow approximately 2–4 weeks for preparation and delivery.
Each knife is individually prepared, finished, and inspected by skilled artisans before shipment. Delivery times may vary depending on the destination, customs clearance, local postal or delivery procedures, weather, transportation conditions, and other circumstances outside KIREAJI's reasonable control.
Estimated delivery times are not guaranteed.
Shipping Fees
KIREAJI is pleased to offer complimentary shipping to customers in the United States and Canada.
For other countries and regions where KIREAJI currently accepts orders, applicable shipping fees will be displayed during checkout.
Tracking
Once your order has been shipped, tracking information will be provided so that you can follow the progress of your shipment.
Please note that tracking updates and delivery procedures may vary depending on the destination and carrier.
Changing Your Shipping Address
If you need to update your shipping address, please contact KIREAJI as soon as possible.
An address change may extend the preparation or delivery time.
Once an order has been shipped, we are unable to change the delivery address.
Customers are responsible for providing a complete and accurate shipping address when placing an order.
European Union Shipping
Please note that KIREAJI is currently unable to ship to countries within the European Union.
Due to the complexity of VAT registration, import regulations, and cross-border tax compliance within the EU, it is currently difficult for us to provide the level of responsible service that KIREAJI believes every customer deserves.
Rather than accepting orders that may result in unexpected customs issues, tax complications, or delivery problems, we have chosen to temporarily suspend shipments to EU countries.
We sincerely appreciate your understanding.
Customs Duties, Taxes & Import Charges
Customs duties, import taxes, VAT, brokerage or handling fees, and any other charges imposed by the destination country, customs authority, carrier, or other relevant authority are not included in the product price or shipping fee and are the responsibility of the customer.
Import rules and charges vary by country and may depend on the value, classification, and circumstances of each shipment.
For this reason, KIREAJI cannot determine or guarantee the amount of duties, taxes, customs charges, brokerage fees, or other import-related charges that may apply.
Before placing an order, customers are encouraged to confirm applicable import regulations, customs duties, taxes, and additional charges directly with their local customs authority or other relevant government agency.
By placing an international order, the customer acknowledges responsibility for any such charges that may arise upon importation.
Customs & Delivery Delays
International shipments may be subject to customs inspection and other import procedures.
Customs authorities may inspect, delay, restrict, return, seize, abandon, or destroy a shipment in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
KIREAJI cannot control customs decisions, customs clearance procedures, or processing times.
Delays caused by customs inspections, import regulations, local authorities, carriers, weather, transportation interruptions, or other circumstances outside KIREAJI's reasonable control do not automatically qualify an order for cancellation, refund, or compensation.
Refused or Unclaimed Shipments
Orders refused or left unclaimed because the customer does not wish to pay applicable import duties, taxes, customs charges, brokerage fees, carrier fees, or other required import or delivery charges are not eligible for cancellation or refund, except where otherwise required by applicable law.
Returns & Product Concerns
For information regarding product concerns, refunds, order cancellations, handcrafted characteristics, Honbazuke-related finishing marks, and other eligibility conditions, please refer to the KIREAJI Return, Refund & Order Policy.
Please contact KIREAJI before sending any knife back to Japan or directly to Shiroyama Knife Workshop or an artisan.
Our Commitment
Every KIREAJI shipment is more than logistics — it is a cultural bridge between Sakai's craftsmen and people around the world who value their work.
We do not rush. We do not compromise.
Your patience allows us to deliver a knife that carries not only exceptional craftsmanship and sharpness, but also the spirit of Sakai's centuries-old knife-making tradition — directly to your kitchen.
Nothing in this Shipping Policy is intended to limit or exclude any consumer rights or remedies that cannot legally be limited or excluded under applicable law.
